Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday said building a poverty-free society is his life ambition and welfare is possible only if wealth is created.

Naidu was speaking at meeting held in connection with the Ananta Sesha Stapana (installation of eternal relics) programme at Hare Krishna Gokula Kshetra at Kolanukonda of Tadepalli here.

Naidu felt that the people are fortunate enough that they have charitable organisations which instil confidence among them to uphold and protect dharma. "It is merely the faith that drives the whole world forward and the Almighty is the only power that we are not aware of," he said.

Stating that the Hare Krishna Movement reposes faith among the people that they can perform any kind of programme in a perfect manner, he said that the ISKCON is also competing with the Hare Krishna Movement in performing such programmes.

The Great Madhu Pandit Dasa achieves what he wants and strives hard for a policy that he believes, the Chief Minister observed.

There are at least 50 persons in the Hare Krishna Movement who are the products of the high-profile IITs and the ISKCON too has IITians, who have sacrificed their lives for upholding the Indian culture and traditions, he added.

The Chief Minister was of the opinion that had there not been temples or holy places for any religion on this Earth, the jails may not be sufficient as the crime rate would not have been under control.

"Everyone including the scientists, the doctors, the industrialists and the judiciary offer prayers to the Almighty for at least two minutes before beginning their duties. ISRO scientists too pray to God before launching the rockets into space," he noted.

Observing that he always gives importance to Information Technology (IT), Naidu said that when he promoted IT 25 years ago Indians after becoming experts in this have moved to various countries.

Declaring that the State Government is ready to extend all kinds of assistance to those who are willing to work for society, Naidu said that he is extending his

wholehearted appreciation to the management of the Akshaya Patra. The organisation is extending quality food for lunch for 22 lakh people in several States daily, he said adding the maintenance of Anna Canteens were handed over to Akshaya Patra earlier.

"We will soon relaunch Anna Canteens which were closed by the previous government. My government will always be in support of Hare Krishna Gokulam and ISKCON and extend all kinds of cooperation," he maintained.
